Pretty Dead

We begin. Never warmed up to the fire we just jumped in. No "hello, how ya doin, where ya been?".
My favorite reason why they could never break our kind is because we bend. On a scale from 1 to 5 an easy 10.
In the backseat of the desert hella hot. I've been waking up from blackouts quite alot. There's things we could've done instead of fought, I reminisce alot. Sometimes rattling your cage is all you've got.
Pretty dead. Yeah, you're gonna be so pretty when you're dead. Then the rest of you can catch up with your head. And leave here with a quote from what I've said, or maybe don't instead. In the fast lane with your high heels made of lead.

Don't Look Now

Crippled by my ego, I used to be confused. Drunk on my reflection and booze, yeah, drunk on that too. I seemed to loose traction as I went. Bad habits replaced all my friends. Try hard enough and you will find plenty to resent. They say it's just a means to an end. Fair enough, but what happens then?
Set my spirit free! Help organize this tangled debris. You glow like an angel to me. It might be precisely the right kind of light for a blind man to finally see.
Don't look now. The world's on fire.
Over my shoulder it all looks so clear. I can read the writing backward in the mirror. I wear the scars of these harrowing years proudly, but I sent back the fear.
Set my spirit free! Help quarantine my wants from my needs. When they found me I was down on my knees. The rest, as they say, is blistering history.
Set my spirit free!! Help organize this tangled debris. You glow like an angel to me. It might be precisely the right kind of light for a blind man to finally see.
Don't look now. The world's on 🔥.
